Developed by Dr. Don Clifton, the CliftonStrengths Assessment (formerly named the Clifton StrengthsFinder) measures the intensity of an individual’s talents across 34 themes, categorized into 4 domains:

Strategic Thinking

Relationship Building

Influence

Execution

The Assessment

The tool, designed to identify and quantify an individual’s unique strengths and talents, is rooted in the idea that we perform our best when we focus on our strengths rather than trying to fix our “weaknesses”.

The assessment, administered by Gallup, Inc., consists of 177 questions that aim to uncover your natural patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior.

The Results

Based on these results, Gallup produces reports that help you understand your results. These reports can provide valuable insights into how you can leverage your strengths to achieve personal and professional success, foster effective team collaboration, and create a more engaging and inclusive culture for your organization.

The Impact

Gallup data shows that individuals who have the opportunity to use their CliftonStrengths are 6x as likely to be engaged in their jobs, 6x as likely to strongly agree that they have the opportunity to do what they do best every day, and 3x as likely to report having an excellent quality of life.

CliftonStrengths is also a great tool to use for teams to better understand team dynamics and work towards leveraging individual and shared strengths to drive organizational outcomes.

Based on a 2015 meta-analysis by Gallup, building a strengths-based workplace can help organizations increase customer engagement by up to 7% and employee engagement by up to 15%.

Schedule a CliftonStrengths Coaching session

A CliftonStrengths Coaching session with me covers:

  • the cost of the assessment
  • a 60-minute initial session to dive into your results, come up with an action plan to  leverage your strengths more intentionally
  • A 30-minute follow-up session and additional resources to help support you with continued use of CliftonStrengths
  • Access to discounted rates for ongoing strengths-based coaching

Note: Taking any psychometric assessment for self or team development is just a starting point. The results should be used to facilitate rich discussions that help raise self and other awareness, and increase acceptance, understanding, and empathy.

I don’t believe these results are meant to put people in boxes. Instead, they give us a unique lens into the worldview of another. This can be a powerful tool to bridge gaps in understanding and build positive working relationships with others.
